This August, J. Lynn Design Group was proud to support a Naples back-to-school supply drive benefiting children served by St. Matthew’s House, joining members of the Naples building and design community to help students begin the school year with the supplies they need.
The Annual Back-to-School Supply Drive, hosted by the Naples Daltile Design Studio in association with the Collier Building Industry Association (CBIA, took place on August 11, 2026, at Daltile’s Naples showroom at 990 1st Avenue South. The gathering brought the community together around a simple but meaningful purpose: collecting school supplies for children served by St. Matthew’s House.
A Back-to-School Effort With Local Impact
A new school year carries a particular sense of possibility. New classrooms, new teachers, new routines, and, for many children, an opportunity to begin again.
For families facing homelessness or significant housing challenges, however, preparing for school can carry additional pressures.
St. Matthew’s House provides shelter and supportive resources for adults and families with children experiencing homelessness throughout Southwest Florida. Its shelter network serves more than 1,100 men, women, and children each year, connecting residents not only with immediate necessities but also with resources designed to help families move toward greater stability.
Something as familiar as a backpack filled with notebooks, pencils, and other classroom essentials can therefore represent more than a collection of supplies. It allows a child to walk into the classroom prepared to participate alongside classmates, with one less uncertainty competing for attention.
Guests were invited to contribute school supplies or participate through a designated supply kit, turning an evening among local professionals into an opportunity to directly support children in the community.
Naples Businesses Coming Together for the Community
The collaboration also reflects an important part of the Collier Building Industry Association’s role in Naples and Collier County.
CBIA brings together builders, designers, remodelers, suppliers, and other professionals throughout the local building industry. Alongside advocacy, education and professional connections, philanthropy is one of the organization’s stated cornerstones, creating opportunities for members to contribute to the community in which they live and work.
For J. Lynn Design Group, participating in efforts like this is a natural extension of being part of the Naples community.
